Leopard

Leopards are the smallest of the four “Big Cats” but have the largest distribution of any cat species in the world.  They range across eastern and central Africa and throughout Asia from the Russian Far East to the Indian subcontinent.  Excellent jumpers and climbers, leopards often take their kills up into trees to protect their meal from other predators.  The leopards at the Memphis Zoo can usually be found high up in their Cat Country exhibit, either sneaking around the rock work or lounging and scratching on their many logs.
